Who I Serve

Built for the attorneys carrying the whole practice.

Solo Litigation Attorneys

You're the attorney, the paralegal, and the calendar clerk. One missed filing is a malpractice risk you can't afford.

Solo Personal Injury Attorneys

Statutes of limitations, medical records, and demand deadlines stacking up. I keep the docket airtight so you can focus on cases and clients.

Small Firms Without In-House Paralegal Support

Growing caseload, no full-time paralegal yet. Retain a Certified Paralegal without the overhead of a hire.

What You Can Count On

Real credentials. Real coverage. Real standards.

Certified Paralegal

Trained and certified paralegal credentials — not a general VA and not a legal-adjacent hobbyist.

Certified Mediator

Additional dispute-resolution training few paralegals hold — useful on any file heading toward settlement.

E&O Insured

Errors & Omissions coverage in place for the paralegal work performed under your supervision.

Direct Access

You work with Amanda directly on every matter — no rotating team, no ticket queue, no offshore hand-off.

A Founder's Note

"Shelton Mediation and Paralegal Co. is a new practice, built on years of paralegal training and litigation-adjacent experience. My commitment: every deadline verified against the governing rule, every filing prepared to court standard, every matter reviewed with you monthly. If I ever miss a deadline I calendared, I'll say so the same day."

— Amanda Shelton, CP

The System

Every deadline. One system. Zero guesswork.

A calendar and a matter register, kept in lockstep. Nothing lives in your head; nothing gets forgotten in a drawer.

The Stakes

Two expensive risks in every solo litigation practice.

Risk A

A Missed Deadline

Missed deadlines are still the number-one cause of legal malpractice claims. In litigation and PI work, one overlooked statute of limitations, discovery cut-off, or filing date can undo years of advocacy — and a good reputation — in a single afternoon.

Risk B

The Billable-Hours Gap

Most solo attorneys bill only about a quarter of the day — not because they aren't working, but because they're also running the office: calendaring, filing, chasing paper, checking rules, and triaging follow-up. That gap is worth roughly $150,000 a year in revenue that never makes it onto an invoice.

The Billable-Hours Gap$150,000/ year, uncaptured.

Roughly what many solo attorneys leave on the table each year when docket control, filing support, and administrative follow-up crowd out legal work. This retainer closes both gaps at once: fewer deadline risks, and real billable hours back on your calendar.

About

Meet Amanda Shelton, CP

I'm Amanda — a Certified Paralegal and Certified Mediator. I've spent my career inside litigation-adjacent files: personal injury, workers' compensation, probate, and bankruptcy. I know the pressure points solo attorneys feel when deadlines, filings, and active matters compete for the same hour.

Shelton Mediation and Paralegal Co. is woman-owned and operated. When you retain me, you work with me directly — not a rotating team, not a service desk. My role is to protect the docket, keep the paper moving, and give you back the hours you need for strategy, clients, and billable legal work.

Built specifically for solo litigation and personal injury practices — with real background in workers' comp, probate, and bankruptcy files when those matters cross your desk.

Process

How It Works

01

Consult

We sit down — by phone or video — and walk through your open matters, your current calendar (or whatever's standing in for one), and the places you can feel things slipping.

02

Setup

I build your rules-based docket calendar from the ground up, load every active matter, and confirm each deadline against the governing rules before it goes on the calendar.

03

Ongoing Management

From there, I track your deadlines, prepare routine filings, and sit down with you each month to walk the calendar together — for as long as you'd like me on your team.

Frequently Asked

The questions attorneys actually ask.

Am I covered by E&O insurance?

Yes. Errors & Omissions coverage is in place for the paralegal work performed under your supervision — so your practice isn't exposed by outsourcing the docket.

How do you handle confidentiality and conflicts?

Every matter is treated as attorney work-product. I run a conflicts check against my active client list before accepting any new file, and I sign a written confidentiality/NDA agreement with every retaining attorney at engagement.

What states do you cover?

All 50 states. Support is fully virtual, and I calendar to the governing rules of the jurisdiction where your matter sits — federal or state.

Are you a lawyer or a law firm?

No. I'm a Certified Paralegal providing support services to licensed attorneys. All work is performed under your supervision and direction — I don't give legal advice or represent your clients.

How do we get started?

Book a free 20-minute call. If it's a fit, I send an engagement letter with the tier you selected, run a conflicts check, and we go live on your docket within 5 business days.

Do hours roll over month to month?

No — that's standard for retainer work. The monthly fee secures guaranteed availability on your docket. Anything beyond the tier's hours is billed at a flat $50/hour.
